Danny Suplicy
Danny Suplicy holds a degree in Fashion from Faculdade Santa Marcelina. She worked in the field as a fashion designer for ten years before making a career transition into the world of pastry and cake decoration in 1989, becoming a partner of her sister, Isabella Suplicy, in the company Isabella Suplicy Homemade Sweets. Since then, Danny Suplicy has been working as a cake and confectionery designer, creating fascinating ornamentations marked by striking visual originality and endless experimentation with materials.
A self-taught painter, Danny Suplicy has been working with oil on canvas for the past five years. Her work is figurative and carries memories of her personal history and academic background, blending symbols, marks, passages, places, and visual elements that she absorbed during her time between the United States and Brazil, throughout her adolescence and adult life.
Her first encounters with art came through watching her mother paint, being surrounded by family members who were art collectors, and frequent visits to museums.
“I paint from deep within myself.”
With this phrase, the artist sums up the direct and instinctive way she expresses herself—through a visual language rich in color, patterns and symbols.
